Llama Photo Series

This series follows the Llama as she navigates and engages with different environments and social settings. The idea of altered reality is central to the work. In the brief second it takes to encounter the Llama, the audience experiences a rupture from the everyday — a momentary shift into a different reality that can feel surreal, unexpected, or even shocking.

When I put on the Llama mask, I witness a wide range of reactions from the audience: shock, joy, laughter, curiosity, and delight. That split second of uncertainty — when one cannot immediately explain what they are seeing — is essential to the work. It opens a space for imagination, play, and emotional release.

The Llama series is ultimately about joy and happiness. I feel an immense sense of freedom and happiness when I inhabit the Llama, and I hope that feeling radiates outward. Through this fleeting encounter with an altered reality, the Llama invites the audience to reconnect with wonder, humor, and a shared sense of delight — if only for a moment.
